About Me
My Background
Originally from Houston, Mechele holds a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from Murray State University in Kentucky and a Bachelor of Arts in communication from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She lives in Fort Worth.
Her name is pronounced like the Beatles song where the letter “e" is a long "ē" like the word "sea" but NOT overly enunciated, as if accented. No, her mom wasn’t a huge Beatles fan, it's just a coincidence.
Mechele is passionate about mental health and frequently uses social media to spread awareness, relay facts and helpful information, or provide uplifting support. She participates in American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s North Texas Out of the Darkness Walks and supports other mental health foundations. Her hope is that by spreading awareness we can one day really break the stigma and save more lives.
Mechele is also a strong advocate for rescue animals. She supports  the “Adopt, Don’t Shop” road to pet ownership and does all she can to help lost pets safely find their way back home to their owners or to a safe haven until they can be fostered or adopted.
